Kids at MUMC
- Age 4 to Grade 5 -
Children are regarded as Little Disciples with equal value in our community. We are deliberately respecting each of those little hearts as we know they already have the capacity of interacting with the Divine. Therefore we structure ourselves with these priorities: to keep your children safe, smiling, and then encourage them to investigate their Savior for themselves.
The sacred art of letting kids be kids
Children are celebrated by Jesus as well as Marysville United Methodist Church! We know how children love to stay busy, be silly, and play. So that's what children's ministry looks like here!
We have a skilled team of believers who are passionate about making faith come alive in the heart of a child through interactive, age appropriate play and even sneaking in some education.
Sunday Mornings
All children are welcome! On Sunday mornings, everyone begins in worship. After a children's time in the service, kids may go to Kids Club Sunday School.
Our one classroom model engages kids of all ages in a multi-age classroom with built-in opportunities for older kids to mentor younger kids, enabling them to navigate the story and compare what they learn to their own lives.
We currently use Spark All Kids Curriculum, in which each lesson follows the four-part sequence below.
Kids Club
Gather
Begin the day by gathering together and trying a warm-up activity
Open Bible
Open Bibles and explore the day’s story.
Activate Faith
Get moving and become engaged in the story they just read by using their leaflets
Experience the Salvation Story
Finish with a closing activity and prayer.
