Banned Books for Faithful People

Banned Books for Faithful People
Does knowing a book has been banned automatically pique your interest? Join us as we discuss banned books as faithful people. We discuss how the author’s writing, the characters, and the settings can offer insights for Christians today. You do not have to condone everything a character does to practice compassion, curiosity, and generate questions for our faith in today’s world. Our group selected Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. Fahrenheit 451, ironically, is a book about book censorship that frequently is targeted and shows up on banned book lists. All are invited to join us on June 9, at 2:00 pm at the church in the library, we will determine our schedule going forward at that time.

Please show up even if you have not finished the reading—you have enough world experience to contribute—there will be plenty to discuss.

Questions? Please reach out to Pastor Tanya: pastortanya@marysvilleumc.org.
