Genesis 18:1-15

On this last Sunday of July we welcome guest preacher, Rev. Elizabeth Schinlder to the pulpit. She brings to us the story of Abraham and Sarah from Genesis 18:1-15. Abraham and Sarah are old yet they have been promised a son. This story shows us that sometimes things  unravel for the better.  

"Sometimes, when we least expect it, hope breaks through. Love comes marching in, promises are  fulfilled, and dreams come true. But we have to be open to receiving the good, even  when it's out of our control. We have to keep room in our lives for the unexpected gifts we  encounter, for the burst of laughter, that sneaks its way out, a sign of hope for us and the  world. Sometimes things fall apart and laughter surprises, and we find out that life is even  better than we ever hoped or  imagined."
