Jeremiah 1:1-10

Throughout Scripture, people often think they are either too old or too young to be of use, when they are actually just the person God needs. Why does God love to choose unexpected people to do such important things? Why doesn’t God choose people with more obvious assets, those who are perhaps more capable?

Perhaps God’s preference for the overlooked shows us that we don’t actually understand how power works. We think power comes from might, from wealth, or from popularity. But that’s not where God thinks power comes from! God actually finds power in those who are ignored or overlooked, those who are maybe physically weak, poor, or kept from leadership. In God’s world, dreams and plans and hopes and strategies are found among all kinds of people. 

This week Pastor Meredith starts of the series with scripture from Jeremiah 1:1-10 and the story of Jeremiah being equipped by God to do God's work.
